For Sale - Beneteau 423 - EUR 89k - SOLD!!!

"Familia" is a 2003 Beneteau 423.

After being a home for our family for one year as we cruised the Med over 2010/11 she is reluctantly for sale.  She was seriously upgraded by us at the start of last year and is probably the most comprehensively equipped boat of this type in the Med right now for liveaboard cruising. Under her previous ownership she completed an Atlantic circuit via the Caribbean and has been well used every season but never chartered.

We have taken the time and effort to fit Familia with all the necessary comforts to make her a family home, not just a boat, and the next owner will benefit from this. She is self-sufficient for electricity generation, permitting indefinite stays on the anchor without having to run the engine. An extensive array of sun protection (boom tent etc), interior fans and air conditioning means that even the heat of the Turkish or North African high summer is enjoyable. A full suite of up-to-date safety features permits peace of mind irrespective of whether she is crossing an ocean or just across the bay.

The Beneteau 423 is a perfect cruising boat with a sharp interior courtesy of the Group Finot design, lots of varnished timber, many opening hatches and portlights, and loads of space. We chose this model because it is the perfect family boat built by the world's most famous yacht manufacturer. Familia is the preferred 3 cabin - 2 head version and can comfortably sleep a total of 8 downstairs if required. She is in very good condition, having been fastidiously maintained on an ongoing basis while we live aboard.

Under sail she performs well on all points; she is an extremely stable boat courtesy of her beam and deep keel, a desirable characteristic in a family yacht. The array of sails and the powerful motor means you can push her as hard or as little as you like: the cruising chute is quite stable and has been great fun even in wind up to 30kts. Under motor she will cruise at 7+ kts with a max of 8.5 kts: under sail or power she eats up the miles.

Familia is Australian registered and is currently lying in Rome, Italy near the airport. There is absolutely nothing to spend, motor serviced May 2011, new antifoul, every household, sailing, or safety item you could need is on board: just step on board with your bags and go.
